Your cards, your business
In plain English: what we store when you make a card, who can see it and what we don't do.
What we store
When you create a card we store what you put in it, so it can be shown to the person you send it to:
- the names you type (theirs and yours)
- the words on each screen, your quiz answers, coupons and other text
- any photos you add
- the design, colours, music and effects you chose
You don't need an account. If you choose to sign in with Google, we keep the name and email address Google shares with us so we can show you the cards you've bought. When you pay, Stripe passes us your email address so we can send your receipt and links. If you ask us to email a card, we keep the recipient's email address to send it. We never use any of these for marketing.
Who can see a card
Anyone with the card's link can open it, so only share it with the people you want to see it. Links are long random codes that can't realistically be guessed, and cards are never listed, searchable or shown anywhere else on the site. We also ask search engines not to index them.
Photos
Photos are resized on your own device before they're uploaded. This also removes hidden data that phones add to photos, such as the location where the photo was taken. Uploaded photos are only used in the card you add them to.
Things saved on your device
While you're making a card, we keep an unfinished copy in your browser's local storage so a refresh doesn't lose your work. We also remember whether you've muted card sounds and, in a small cookie, which language you picked. If you sign in, a cookie keeps you signed in. These stay on your device. We don't use advertising or tracking cookies.
The chat helper and making cards by typing
If you use the chat, what you type is sent to Anthropic, the company that makes the Claude AI, so it can write a reply. Please don't type personal details such as addresses, phone numbers or payment details into the chat.
When you make or change a card by typing, your description, the names and the card's words are sent to Anthropic in the same way, so it can write the card. Your photos are not sent.
Where it's kept
The site is hosted by Vercel, cards, photos and orders are stored with Supabase, and emails are sent through Resend. They process this data on our behalf to run the site.
Payments
Payments are handled by Stripe. We never see or store your full card details.
